Each month we are contacted by new doctors and clinics looking to make changes to their medical transcription process. Reasons are typically one of two, Price or Quality related.
Many medical transcription services in some cases charge up to 16 cents per line. In the current climate 16 cents to a single doctor or smaller clinic is a significant
cost and for a genuine transcription company a very high profit.
As a medical transcription company who has been transcribing for many years we know what is reasonable to charge clinics and hospitals.
We own our own premises, equipment and servers so we do not have to pay rent and expensive third party costs. This means we can allocate our funds and reinvestment directly into our transcription. This is why we charge between 9cents and 12cents per 65 character line and have not increased our prices in the last 4 years.
Below are some comparable calculations of rate differences:
10,000 lines at 10 cents = $1000 per month = $12,000 per year
10,000 lines at 16 cents = $1600 per month = $19,200 per year
Cost Saving per year = $7,200
Pricing is not the only factor that has to be considered. Quality and service are equally important and for this reason
we have 24 hour support and a large quality control department to proof read each and every report we transcribe. |
